Qubit PMS adds clinical prioritisation features

As a further update to our work on supporting our clients through the COVID-19, Qubit are announcing the launch of new functionality within our Patient Management System to coordinate clinical prioritisation and harm risk ratings of patients whose care has been delayed by the pandemic.

The drastic reduction to elective care activity that has been required across the NHS has left many patients waiting far longer than normal to receive treatment. As waiting lists continue to grow, the task of assessing and prioritising which patients most need assessment and intervention has become a more and more challenging task, with associated risk to patient safety if not carried out regularly and consistently. Using the limited capacity in our hospitals to greatest benefit by effectively tracking and managing patient need has never been more important.

With QPMS’s existing functionality already providing an effective platform for reviewing and recording detailed information about patients, providing additional features to track clinical prioritisation and risk has been a natural evolution of the product. As it also tracks all patients, whether on an active RTT pathway or not, no patient is ever missed out for review.

QPMS offers a consistent and standardised platform for clinicians to record prioritisations and risk assessments, is easily auditable and reportable and that allows easy and effective governance. This approach reduces risk of clinical reviews being undertaken in isolation with inconsistent approaches taken across specialties / divisions.

Built to be easily customisable to individual Trusts governance processes, Qubit’s clinical prioritisation features offer the flexibility to rapidly adapt to any changes in a Trust’s processes and procedures.
